Ingredients

  • Canola oil for frying
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 chopped, green apple
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Stir in the milk, egg, and chopped green apple. Pour in the oil in the deep fryer or pot and allow the oil to get hot. When the oil is ready for frying, use an ice cream scooper to scoop some of the batter and pour in the hot oil. Allow to fry on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack before dipping into the glaze.
  2. Speaking of the glaze, in a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla and whisk until it creates a thick glaze. You can dip the apple fritters or drizzle with the glaze. Place back on the cooling rack and allow cooling.
