Description
Add some flavor to your burger and make it using some Asian spices and flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. Laura’s ground beef
- ½ tbsp. pepper
- ½ tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. liquid smoke
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- For Sauce
- 1 c. brown sugar
- ½ c. water
- 1 tsp. anise seeds
- 2 tsp. fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. siracha
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 c. Asian Cole Slaw
- 1 tbsp. mayo
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 Burger Buns
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the beef and spices (pepper, soy sauce, liquid smoke, and garlic powder) with your hands. Once the beef has been mixed, make 4 ounce beef patties and set aside.
- Heat a large sauté pan and warm 2 tbsp. olive oil on medium heat. Place the beef patties in the pan and sear on each side for about 5 minutes. Set aside once cooked.
- While the burgers are cooking, in a medium sauce pan, add the brown sugar, water, anise seeds, ginger, soy sauce, siracha and garlic and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. The sauce will thicken. Stir occasionally so the sauce won’t burn.
- In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, mayo, and honey and toss with the cole slaw.
- To assemble, take a hamburger bun and place on top of the bottom bun a burger, slice of cheese, 1 tablespoon of sauce, some of the slaw, and finally the top of the bun and serve.
