Description

Captain Crunch Chicken Tenders are a fun twist on a classic dish! Nostalgic and delicious, they’re perfect for kids and adults alike. This recipe is sure to be a family favorite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. Water
  • 6 c. Captain Crunch cereal, crushed
  • 12 Boneless Skinless Chicken Tenderloin
  • 2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, beat the eggs and water together.
  3. In a food processor, crush the Captain Crunch cereal until it resembles coarse crumbs. Pour the crumbs into a third shallow dish.
  4. Dip each chicken tenderloin into the flour mixture, coating all sides evenly.
  5. Next, dip the flour-coated tenderloin into the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully covered.
  6. Finally, coat the tenderloin in the crushed Captain Crunch cereal, pressing gently to help the crumbs adhere.
  7. Heat the oil in a large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat.
  8. Carefully place the coated chicken tenders in the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  9. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate on place on a cooling rack.
  11. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
