Here is what I imagine when I think of these Classic Buttermilk Scones…
I imagine sleeping on Buttermilk Scones in Heaven. Well…read on.
I imagine waking up in my beach out that is a lot like the beach house in the movie “Somethings Got To Give” with Jack Nicholson and Dianne Keaton, to the sound of soft ocean waves. I go to the kitchen, put on a pot of coffee for my husband. I boil water to make some tea and I sit outside on the porch, still in my pj’s, with my dog, Baby, and listening to jazz music. I’m up right around the time the sun has set and the morning dew is still fresh. The wear and tear of the day hasn’t taken over. I begin to enjoy the smell coming from the kitchen. It is the smell of sweetness, heaven, and grandma’s kitchen. I remove pillows of goodness from the oven and enjoy them on my porch with homemade strawberry and peach marmalade. Ahhh, life is awesome and amazing. Just thinking about this is A) Making me want to watch the movie B). Encouraging me to research the housing market of the Outer Banks and Lake Erie, and C) Making my mouth water for these Classic Buttermilk Scones.
I am not a home owner just yet, but let me tell you that I can’t wait until we are in that place. I often imagine myself sitting on my large deck and enjoying meals, entertaining guests, and even napping outside (in an enclosed porch of course). I’ll tell you one thing, when I finally get house with large windows, it is going to be super easy to take food photos for you guys. Anyway, back to my day-dream. Every Saturday in the spring and warmer fall days, I would eat my breakfast outside and type on my blog. It would be one of the few regular routines that I would carry out. I just had a sudden thought, it is nice to have these ideas now with no children around, right? Well let’s hope I will still be able to have this moment of solitude even then.Until then, I will have to continue to imagine and create these ideas in my head. However, I do find mysterious ways to have small moments. I do! Most Saturdays when I wake up I turn on my TV to watch Food Network, test a recipe, and write ideas down for my blog. That may seem like work to most of you but for me its a moment of solitude. It is going to be an even nicer moment when I add these Buttermilk scones to that equation. I hope you enjoy these scones as much as I did!
