If you love White Castle, you will love my Copycat White Castle Burgers Recipe!
This Copycat White Castle Burgers recipe will satisfy your White Castle burger craving.
I have loved White Castle since I was a kid! If we had an option of choosing a fast food restaurant I would always vote for White Castle. Yep, even before McDonald’s. I am not quite sure what it is about White Castle burgers because they aren’t fancy, extravagant, and doesn’t meet the crazy criteria for most culinary enthusiasts. But it’s White Castle and its the bomb.
Before I knew what I was doing to my body and couldn’t gain a single pound if you paid me, I would go to White Castle and order the following,
White Castle Sliders
Chicken Rings (don’t forget the Honey Mustard sauce)
Mozzarella Cheese Sticks and
Yes! I would order all of this food in a single sitting. Hey, I was 5’10 and weight only 130 pounds. Do you have any idea how skinny that is for someone that height? Yeah, so watching what I eat was watching my food on a plate before I ate it. I don’t eat as much, White Castle, as much now (and by not as much means maybe once a year) but I still do crave those sliders from time to time. Therefore, it is only fitting that I create a Copycat White Castle Burger recipe that will satisfy my fix for those delicious burgers.
I love White Castle burgers!
I should point out, I tried a White Castle burger when I made this recipe to try to get the flavoring as close as possible. You know what I found? There really, really isn’t anything special about these mini sliders! There wasn’t a particular flavor that stood out, to me. The first thing I noticed after my first bite was how soft and warm the buns were. So, I figured to start there, which was an easy starting point because I just bought dinner rolls that were in the bakery section of my grocery store. Then there are those damn delicious onions and pickle that sets the whole slider on another level.
Finally, I just needed the pickle to make everything complete!
Again, there is nothing at all special about White Castle burgers but if you are a White Castle lover, they are the best things in the world.
Oh, I almost forgot!
I bet you’re wondering if they truly taste like those miniature burgers of awesomeness. To be honest, this Copycat White Castle Burgers recipe is as close as it gets, but it still isn’t White Castle. I’ m just being honest. When tasting a White Castle slider, there isn’t a huge pop of flavor that is well pronounced as to where it is clear what is being used. So I kept it simple like the burgers and added onion and garlic powder, salt and pepper, and Worcestershire Sauce. I think it got pretty darn close.
What makes a White Castle burger a White Castle burger?
IT’S THAT DAMN PICKLE AND THE ONIONS!
