- 1/4 tsp. Almond extract
- 2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
- 12 oz. Baked croissants
Topping
- 4 tbsp. Unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. Almond extract
- 1/4 tsp. Vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp. Flour
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 c. sliced almonds
- Garnish: Sliced mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries), powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Cut the baked croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the greased baking dish.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring that they are evenly coated. Press down gently to help the croissants absorb the liquid. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the croissants to soak up the mixture.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the topping by creaming together the softened unsalted butter, sugar, egg, almond extract, vanilla extract, flour, and salt. Stir in the sliced almonds.
- Spread the topping evenly over the croissant mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with sliced mixed berries and a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
