Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 c. elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb. ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 c. shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 c. shredded American cheese
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Onion powder
  • 1 tsp. Dry mustard
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 c. panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish: fresh or dry chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Boil the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté the thinly sliced ribeye steak, green and red bell peppers, and yellow onion until the steak is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  3. In a separate saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Gradually add milk, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, salt and pepper to taste,  provolone, and American cheese, stirring until smooth.
  4. Mix the cooked macaroni with the sautéed steak and veggies. Pour the cheese sauce over the mixture and stir until well combined. Transfer everything to a 9X13 baking dish or in individual 6-8 oz ramekins.
  5. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with a tablespoon of melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. If you are using individual ramekins, bake for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. Dive in and enjoy the perfect fusion of creamy mac and cheese with the savory goodness of ribeye steak, all topped off with a delightful crunch from the breadcrumbs and chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the cheese blend according to your preferences.
  • Experiment with different colors of bell peppers for added visual appeal.
  • For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the cheese sauce.
