- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 tbsp. Olive oil
- 2 eggs, lightly whisked
- 1 tbsp. Sesame oil
- 6 c. shredded cabbage
- 1 c. shredded carrots
- 2 tbsp. Hoisin Sauce
- 1/3 c. soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp. Honey
- 1 tbsp. Rice wine vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 thumb ginger, grated
- 1 tsp. Chilli oil (optional) or
- 1 tsp. Crushed red pepper flakes
- 8 oz. water chestnuts (optional)
- Garnish: sesame seeds, fresh cilantro chopped, sliced green onion
Instructions
- In a shallow large skillet, turn to medium heat and add the olive oil. Add the ground pork and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, drain the pork, and set aside.
- In the same skillet on medium-high heat, add eggs and cook until scrambled. Add the shredded cabbage and carrots, pour the sesame oil over the cabbage, and cook until softened and slightly wilted, about 10 minutes—season with salt and pepper.
- Return the ground pork to the pan and add the water chestnuts (optional). Toss until well combined.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add the Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili oil or red crushed pepper flakes and whisk. Pour the sauce over the stir fry and toss. Let simmer on low for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds, sprinkle with fresh cilantro, and sliced green onions. Serve over cooked brown rice, white rice, or ramen noodles.
Notes
You can add cooked ramen noodles to this dish.
