- 1 pkg. Spice Cake Mix
- 1 pkg. 3.4 oz. Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
- ¾ c. Whole Milk
- ¾ c. Whiskey or Bourbon
- ½ c. Canola Oil
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 ⅓ c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Glaze
- 1 c. Sugar
- ½ c. Unsalted butter, cubed
- ½ c. Whiskey
- 1 tsp. Water
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 Degrees. Spray a bundt cake pan with baking spray and set aside.
- Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, whole milk, whiskey or Bourbon, canola oil, and the eggs in a large mixing bowl, Use a whisk or an electric stand mixer and mix the ingredients together until smooth.
- Fold in the walnuts or pecans, and pour into the bundt cake pan. Bake in the oven for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and comes out clear. Cool in the pan.
- To make the glaze, mix the glaze ingredients together in a small saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to a steady simmering lower temperature and simmer for 10 minutes while stirring intermittently. Cool for a few minutes and it will thicken.
- Pour ⅓ of the glae ove the cake while it is still in the pan. Let the glaze soak into the cake for about 30 minutes. Turn the cake to a wire rake with parchment paper or a large plate placed under the cooling rack to catch the rest of the glaze.
- Pour another ⅓ of the glaze on top of the cake and let set for another 30 minutes, at least. Once the glaze set, pour the remaining glaze of the cake and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cut into slices and serve.
