- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground Italian sausage (or Chorizo)
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 1/2 tbsp. taco seasoning
- 15 oz. queso cheese
- 1/2 c. salsa
- 1 jalapeno de-seeded and diced
- 10–12 Sweet Slider Rolls
- Tortilla Strips
Instructions
- Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef, ground sausage, and diced jalapeno.
- Cook, breaking the meat into small chunks with a spatula, until the meat is browned.
- Once the meat is cooked, drain the excess oil from the pan.
- Return the meat mixture to the pan.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning and oregano over the meat.
- Stir until the meat is evenly coated with the seasonings.
- Pour in the cheese sauce and salsa.
- Stir to combine everything thoroughly.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon the cheesy Mexican Sloppy Joe mixture onto slider buns.
- Garnish with tortilla strips or your desired toppings.
