This Mexican Cheesy Sloppy Joes recipe takes what you think about Sloppy Joes to another level. By adding queso cheese and salsa, Sloppy Joes has never been better.

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground Italian sausage (or Chorizo)
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. taco seasoning
  • 15 oz. queso cheese
  • 1/2 c. salsa
  • 1 jalapeno de-seeded and diced
  • 1012 Sweet Slider Rolls
  • Tortilla Strips


  1. Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef, ground sausage, and diced jalapeno.
  3. Cook, breaking the meat into small chunks with a spatula, until the meat is browned.
  4. Once the meat is cooked, drain the excess oil from the pan.
  5. Return the meat mixture to the pan.
  6. Sprinkle the taco seasoning and oregano over the meat.
  7. Stir until the meat is evenly coated with the seasonings.
  8. Pour in the cheese sauce and salsa.
  9. Stir to combine everything thoroughly.
  10. Reduce the heat to medium-low.
  11. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  12. Spoon the cheesy Mexican Sloppy Joe mixture onto slider buns.
