How To Make Perfect and Flavorful Rice

  • 4 c. broth (your choice)
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. brown rice
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a large non-stick sauce pot, bring the broth and water to a slight simmer on medium heat. Once the liquid begins to boil, add the rice and stir. Place a lid on top of the rice and allow to cook for 20-25 minutes. Stir the rice. If the rice is still undercooked (rice is stiff) and there isn’t a lot of liquid left, add a 1/2 cup of water and cover back with lid to cook for another 10-15 minutes. Once finished, stir with fork to fluff up the rice and remove from heat with the lid still covered and let steam. Add the butter and stir and season according to your liking.
