Description

A spooky green Halloween punch with a dry ice fog effect — a kid-friendly mocktail that’s easy, fizzy, and the star of every Halloween party. Made with ingredients you can grab at any grocery store.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon green Hawaiian Punch (Green Berry Rush), chilled
  • 2 cups pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle Sprite or lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 (1-liter) bottle grape or lemon-lime flavored sparkling water, chilled (to lighten the sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice (optional, for tang)
  • 1 to 2 pints lime sherbet, for topping
  • Food-grade dry ice, for the fog effect (handle with tongs — see notes)
  • Optional garnish: gummy worms, Halloween sprinkles, lime slices
  • Optional, adults only: 1 to 1½ cups vodka (add to a separate bowl)

Instructions

  1. Chill all of your ingredients ahead of time for the coldest, best-tasting punch.
  2. In a large punch bowl, stir together the green Hawaiian Punch, pineapple juice, and lemon or lime juice.
  3. Right before serving, pour in the Sprite and sparkling water. Stir gently to keep the fizz.
  4. For an adults-only version, stir the vodka into a separate bowl now.
  5. Using tongs (never bare hands), carefully add food-grade dry ice to the punch bowl. Let it dissolve completely and stop bubbling before serving — never serve or drink while solid pieces remain.
  6. Once the dry ice has fully dissolved, float scoops of lime sherbet on top and garnish with gummy worms and Halloween sprinkles.
  7. Serve cold and enjoy.

Notes

  • Dry ice safety: always use food-grade dry ice, handle it with tongs, keep it out of reach of children, work in a space with some airflow, and let it fully dissolve before anyone drinks. Never put a solid piece in an individual cup.
  • Make it your own: lean on more sparkling water to cut sugar, or more soda and sherbet to go full-send sweet.
  • Make ahead: mix the juice base a day in advance; add soda, sparkling water, dry ice, and sherbet right before serving.
