  • 1 lb. packaged mozzarella string cheese sticks (string cheese)
  • 3 c. breadcrumbs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. Hot Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
  • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Smoked paprika
  • Garnish: A side of blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing for dipping and chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until the ingredients are well blended, creating a flavorful buffalo sauce.
  3. In separate bowls, place the flour, breadcrumbs, and the buffalo sauce.
  4. Take a mozzarella cheese stick and coat it in the flour, ensuring it’s evenly covered.
  5. Next, dip the flour-coated cheese stick into the buffalo sauce, making sure it’s well coated with the spicy mixture.
  6. Then, roll the buffalo-coated cheese stick in the breadcrumbs, covering it completely. To achieve a crispy finish, you can double-coat the sticks by repeating the buffalo sauce and breadcrumb steps.
  7. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each stick.
  8. Once all the sticks are on the baking sheet, lightly spray them with cooking oil or drizzle a bit of oil over them to help achieve a crispy texture during baking.
  9. Bake the mozzarella sticks in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside becomes gooey.
