Sweet Chilli Sauce Recipe (from scratch)

  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 23 red chilies, finely chopped (or 12 tsp red pepper flakes)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Soak the skewers in water, for at least, 30 minutes.
  2. Cut the boneless pork chops into 6 large chunks along with the green and red bell pepper, and red onion.

  3. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Add salt and adjust sweetness or heat to taste Let cool completely before storing.
