As I started to get into cooking and baking, I started to think how I can make the dishes I create for my family to benefit you, the reader. Well after years of careful consideration, refinement, and trial and error, I realized that my corner of the food blog world has been in front of me the entire time. It has been in everything I’d ever done! I create simple and easy recipes using common and affordable ingredients! Enough said. I am cognizant of the struggle of wanting to make a dish because it sounds and looks amazing only to find out that you don’t have certain ingredients or may not even know what those ingredients are or where to buy them. How many of us have gone through that? We find an easy recipe that we love and as we are going through the ingredient list, we see one or two ingredients we never heard of and end up not making the dish at all.
Cooking and baking are like a painting. A plate is my canvas and the cooking utensils are my brushes. My intention for my blog is to create a place where you can get a harmless, easy, and delicious recipe that you can immediately share with your friends and family. I also talk about matters of the heart under the umbrella sex and now being a mom. I really feel there is a huge area of opportunity we have to understand the point of views of a man and woman when it comes to relationships. There will be some things we will never understand about one another, but if we can create a healthy dialogue about those issues, at the very least, we can learn to respect each other’s differences, which would, in turn, eliminate, or reduce, a lot of issues that we currently face such as higher self-esteem, an increased sense of self-worth, and healthier relationships. Also, there are so many stories and lessons in becoming a mom that I am learning and want to share. One of those stories is how I lost my first born child to SIDS. Losing a child for anyone is a hard issue to get through and I hope my story provides a lane of healing for anyone who has gone through anything similar.
