Thank you for visiting my blog! I am glad that you find me interesting enough to make a visit.
I am a new foodie! Correction, I have been blogging now for 3 years! I got a little seasoning on me now in the blogging world. I am still learning how to really get this thing going in the full time direction, but I guess you want to know how this whole thing got started. Oddly enough, I have not always been an expert in the kitchen. In fact, I use to burn water (yes, its possible). You will never guess what motivated me to take cooking and baking more seriously. Boredom. Absolute boredom! It started off by me making holiday cookies and it just never stopped. I started making cakes, homemade biscuits, rolls, pastries, main dishes, and the list goes on.I never knew how invigorating cooking and baking could be. It is a great way for me to release stress and allow my mind to simply evaporate and to be creative.
Cooking and baking is like painting. A plate is my canvas and the cooking utensils are my brushes. My intention for my blog is to create a place where you can get a harmless, easy, and delicious dish that you can immediately share with your friends and family. I also talk about matters of the heart under the umbrella sex. “What does that mean Nicole”? I really feel there is a huge area of opportunity that we have in our world is to understand the point of view from a man and woman’s point of view when it comes to relationships. There will be some things we will never understand about one another, but if we can create a healthy dialogue about those issues, at the very least, we can learn to respect each others differences, which would in turn elevate a lot of issues that we currently face such as single parent homes, increase sense of self-worth, and create healthier relationships.
In addition, it has been suggested that for women to perform their “womanly duties” it is only to be subservient to their household. I mean, do women still walk around barefoot and pregnant and answer at their man and children’s every demand? No! Women have a choice as to how they choose to serve their household. There are women who work and men who stay at home. Oh yea, it happens. Some women don’t know how to cook at all and their partners are fine with that. What I am simply trying to reflect is a different image of what it means for women to be “domestic”. It doesn’t have to be dull and lifeless and required. No, no, no. Cooking can be fun, easy, and sexy. You can put sexy in a sexual context as it was intended. However, when I say something is “sexy” I mean that something is cool, hott, new, with a color of sexy in a sexual way. You know what I mean?
In closing, blogging is a wonderful way to share your thoughts or things that you love with the world. Cooking, baking, and building communities by giving different perspectives on each other is my way of, hopefully, planting seeds that will ultimately make this world a better place. For you and me. I hope you continue to follow me and become a subscriber so you can stay up to date on my recipes and read my opinions.
