Getting my toddler to eat healthy is so much easier with Stonyfield Yogurt and Once Upon a Farm.
Add some extra nutritional value to your toddler’s diet with the help of Stonyfield and Once Upon a Farm.
I always said that I was going to be that mom who made all of her kids baby food and feed them fresh fruit and vegetables as often as possible. I would buy most of my kid’s food from the farmers market and health food stores and will not stuff crap and processed food down my kid’s mouth because it’s cheaper, easier, and tastes better to them perhaps. Well, I must admit, I have not completely failed in my quest to raise my kid on healthier choices, but it is more difficult than I thought to get healthy food in my son’s diet just because he likes what he likes and he doesn’t like what he likes.
When we first started him on baby food, we only fed him vegetables for a while to get his taste buds to appreciate the natural taste of kale, spinach, green beans, beets, carrots, and zucchini. Then we started to give him fruit a bit later and even then it was naturally pureed fruit without added sugars so his taste buds would begin to understand that natural taste of sugar the way it is intended. This all sounds good, right? “Nicole, you did a good job. So where are you going with this?” I’ll tell you where I am going. Somewhere along the lines of this healthy eating quest that I began for my kid, he still seems to be a picky eater and, dare I say it, beginning to venture into a Chicken Tenders, Macaroni and Cheese, and Cheese Pizza kid. Oh, and Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches! I don’t know how this happened or if it was inevitable. It was like I gave him these foods to try on a whim and it is all he wants. I try giving him some of the food I make for my husband and I and that is becoming a gamble as well. Don’t even ask me about getting him to eat fruit and vegetables. Like seriously, don’t ask. It has grown to be increasingly difficult. I have to trick him to eat them! This may not seem like a big deal to most of you, but to a mom who started off doing things the “right way,” my son’s appetite and his pickiness has caught me a bit off guard.
Let’s talk real mommy talk for a second before I tell you how Stonyfield Yogurt and Once Upon a Farm has changed the game for me when feeding my son, there was a time (and sometimes its still there) where I actually HATED to feed my son. I don’t mean that in a bad mommy kind of way, I mean that in the frustrated mommy kind of way where I would actually run through 2-3 meal ideas at a time to try to find something that he would actually eat only to end the evening with PB&J sandwiches and Puffs. Not a good meal I know, but what do you do?! There were a few wins in it for me here and there. Let’s see he has eaten and LOVED my Salisbury Steak Meatballs (not one the blog yet), Lasagna, and baked sweet potatoes. The crazy thing is I would make the dish and give it to him again and he would act like it’s the worse thing in the world. I don’t get it! That is where I get frustrated and begin to hate lunch and dinner time. Ugh! It’s annoying. I must say, things have gotten somewhat better within the last month and we do make sure he eats soft fruits and veggies ( he loves green beans and bananas). The thing we do to make sure he is getting his daily serving of fruits and vegetables is to feed him plenty fruit and veggie pouches throughout the day. The brand I recommend totally and completely is Once Upon a Farm, which is co-founded by, actress, Jennifer Garner.
Once Upon a Farm are fruit and veggie pouches that are made with eco-friendly packaging that helps to reduce the carbon footprint. The best thing about these pouches that you can’t buy them in the grocery store! No, they come delivered to your doorstep! So it’s like you order what you want, they make the pouches with only the freshest ingredients and send it right to you within a day or so! That is almost as good as you going to the farm, making the pouch, and feeding it to your baby yourself! So if you have a picky eater of a kid like I do, I highly recommend buying these pouches to give your kids some good nutrition. In addition to the fruits and vegetables that your kid needs, they also need some stuff in his belly to help break things stuff down. That is where Stonyfield comes in!
Stonyfield is launching their new line of flavors for Banana and Mango and my son LOVES this yogurt! I mean, I LOVE this yogurt. What I LOVE the most about the Stonyfield YoBaby brand yogurt is there are no added sweeteners. When tasting the yogurt it doesn’t have any sweetness to it at all. The yogurt completely highlights the flavors of the Mango and Banana, which I LOVE because it allows my son to accept and get to know those flavors. This yogurt is full of probiotics that helps support digestive health, organic milk, and Vitamin D to help with bone growth and without toxic pesticides, GMO’s, and artificial hormones.
