So my e-book is underway!
A few months ago, I decided to create an e-book. I did some research on the difference between making an e-book and creating a printed cookbook and the decision came very easy for me. First of all, I am sure there are several approaches to getting a cookbook in print. However, I do not feel that I am in a place where I can fully commit to the deadlines and red tape of a printed book. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good things about having a book in print. The marketing is paid for, there are royalties, and those fancy book tours. One day, I might want to have a cookbook in print, but now I like the idea of having an e-book.
Although I love physical books, I do think that e-books are the new and upcoming way of reading and obtaining material. We all now have Smart Phones and pretty soon, we will all have a tablet of some sort. What an easily accessible way of pulling up information without having to carry around a book. I have an Amazon Fire Kindle and I pull up recipes on it all the time while I am in my kitchen. Not only are e-books easily accessible but all the money that is made is yours! So the amount of time and effort that you put into creating the book is easily justified when you can generate a supplemental income from your work. Believe me I am putting in some serious time and my money into buying the ingredients and the design of this book. I am also generating ideas for another idea of an e-book that I want to have out by fall of next year so some of the money I made from this book will go into the creation of that as well.
If you read my first post about me creating an e-book you should be ashamed of yourself and go and read it now here! Just kidding. But in my first post where I discussed my decision for creating an e-book, I talked about the concept of the book. I am creating a cookbook that will be full of date night meals, appetizers, breakfast in bed, and cocktails. Oh yes hunny, it is going to be sexy! Full of wonderful photos and date night excerpts from me! Oh yes, this book will not only have recipes but I am going to have some appropriate date night and romantic gestures fitting for each category. So if you are one of those people who struggle with coming up with creative romantic gestures, worry not! I am here to help you with that.
I have begun the testing and retesting process of my recipes. So far in this chapter everything has been tested twice and I do plan to have “testers” (more than likely people in my family) to make a recipe on their own and report to me how the recipe turned out. I want to make sure that when you invest in this purchase that there aren’t any discrepancies. Below are a few of the recipes I made already that have been tried and true. Oh! I bet you are wondering what you can expect from this chapter. Well, the menu is right below this paragraph.
Sexy, huh?! The last two I am considering omitting and replacing with other dishes. My goal in creating this book is to not only ignite a love connection with people and bring “sexy” to your lives, but give you more recipes that you can put into rotation that will be shared with your family for generations to come. That is what I believe is my point on being placed on this planet. To bring happiness, which is what I hope this book gives the world.
