These days I take advantage of “Mommy Time” anytime I can get it with Tradewinds Ice Tea!
Drinking Tradewinds Slow Brew Tea makes Mommy Time that much sweeter.
So, my son is now 8 months (I know time is moving fast isn’t it) and I have my work cut out for me! I am a stay-at-home mom who loves her son dearly. I love being with him and providing him safety and security; I love watching him develop before my very eyes, and I love creating structure for him that will carry-out with him for the rest of his childhood. Hoooooowever, doing this job is no easy feat. A couple months ago, I shared with you my pursuit in becoming a full-time blogger. In order to make this opportunity a success, it requires more than 8 hours a day, a lot of reading, and being in front of the computer. Along with that there is taking photos, testing and creating recipes, meeting deadlines, and (now) creating videos for my YouTube Channel to go along with some of my recipes. Because I am home full-time, I can’t just let my home life dwindle. I still need to make dinner, do the laundry, breastfeed when necessary, take out the dog, vacuum the floor, clean up my mess from testing a recipe, make sure my son gets his nap, and pick up his toys so I don’t continue to step on them and nearly fall and break my neck. With all of this, there is hardly in time for me, wife, mommy, Nicole. So when I do get an opportunity to relax, I savor that time with a nice cold and relaxing beverage. One of my favorite drinks is Tradewinds Slow Brew Ice Tea.
In my previous podcast, I discussed how easy it is for a woman to forget about herself once she has a baby and become a mother. As mothers, we have to take care of a person who can’t talk! We have to feed them when we know they need to be fed, we have to change them, we have to carry them, we have to bathe them, among other things. If you think of the basic human need you have as an adult and how you take care of your needs, think about a baby whose needs are more important than you own and who can’t communicate with you what their needs are. It is a lot. So your mind is occupied ALL-THE-TIME. Do you know how many times I have forgotten to brush my teeth, or take the dog out, or EAT?! I have so much going on in my mind that it is hard for me, at times, to relax and find a moment to myself. It’s almost as if I have to put “mommy time” on a calendar with specific time slots. It’s crazy! But in the end, it is all worth it because there is no place I’d rather be than with my son during these important formative years. Nevertheless, it is still important to take out time for me. Tradewinds Slow Brewed Ice Tea helps me do that.
Everyone has their own way of relaxing. Some people play video games (Hi, my name is Nicole and I’m a gamer-holic); some people go out to clubs; some people go hiking, and then there is me. I like to sit alone with soft jazz music looking through a magazine or reading a book while drinking a nice cool beverage. What is a perfect beverage to drink in the summertime than iced tea?! For years I have been a big fan of Tradewinds Tea. The sweet tea has the perfect balance of tea and sweetness for me. There are times where I’ve tried to make the tea and it came out too sweet or bland. Now, I leave it to the professionals at Tradewinds to make the perfect slow brewed tea. What I love about iced tea is you can drink the tea as is, you can add a fruit flavored liqueur for a fruity tea, or use it to make a refreshing and cooling Sangria! There are so many options when it comes to tea and when you have a delicious tea like Tradewinds Slow Brewed Tea, the opportunities are endless.
Next time you get the opportunity to savor life and take a break, I highly recommend doing it with Tradewinds Tea. For the moms out there who are at home raising their children, don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t deserve a break or because you are at home with your child(ren) that having a break is optional. For the sake of our sanity, we must take a breather! So no matter how you choose to savor life, just be sure to get some “mommy time” every now and again. #momentstosavor #ad
