I am really annoyed that my son will only be 6 weeks for his 1st Christmas. NO FUN!
The major holidays of the year (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) is the best time of the year for me. I love seeing the climate seasonal changes; I look forward to the holiday events, new and traditional; and I love the food! All of these elements brought together toward the end and beginning of a New Year makes me extremely happy. Now that I have a son and a full family, I am already looking forward holiday traditions that I plan to carry out as he gets older and we continue to add to our family. I am so excited about the ideas I can’t stand it! I already know that starting October 15th of every year there will be an advent calendar created by your truly that will carry out events and activities that we will do as a family until the beginning of each New Year. I’m talking Pumpkin Patches, Trick or Treating, feeding the homeless, toy drives, and Christmas events. I am already collecting a series of events that we will do as a family. In fact, I will share one of those ideas with you.
I want to establish the annual Washington Christmas Party that will take place every Christmas Eve at our house (when we get one). I will want everyone to dress in ugly Christmas sweaters, take part in a Christmas Cookie Exchange, and there will be a White Elephant gift exchange for those who want to take part. There will be plenty of Christmas treats, appetizers, Hot Chocolate, and Eggnog to go around! The kids will also love this tradition because they will make their own Christmas ornament, create Gingerbread houses, watch Christmas movies, and play games. I mean I can see this happening every year and an event that our families will look forward to. Doesn’t that sound like fun?! Man we need to hurry up and get a house!
If you’ve been following my blog for a while and actually reading my post, you can tell there is a sense of family that I have echoed the entire year. You can say it’s because I had a child, I’m a married woman, or getting older. Whatever the reason, it something that I am greatly looking forward to and have developed a strong need for a close community. We all should look for opportunities throughout the year to spend time with our families and show them love in whatever way they will appreciate. It could be spending time with them, verbally praising their accomplishments, or buying them a gift! If buying a gift is something you know someone will appreciate, I have the perfect website where you can buy a great gift that is very thoughtful. Read on to find out what it is!
