I am 3 months pregnant!
I know my blog efforts have slowed since I have been pregnant and believe me I am really sick about it! But in my first trimester, I couldn’t create a post on how to boil water if I wanted to. I was always sleeping, always sick, and my relationship with food went on a serious hiatus. I couldn’t do it. I barely combed my hair. I don’t even know how I was able to work during that time. But when you know you are going to have another person who depends on you, you will do what you need to do even before that person comes in this world. Lately, I have felt much, much better. I have moments where I am suddenly tired or don’t really feel like eating certain things but for the most part, I am 97% back to normal. Let me tell you what has changed.
My appetite! I have been able to eat like a normal person. To be honest, I don’t eat as healthy as I did post-baby, but I don’t eat unhealthy either. I kind of eat like a “normal” person (whatever that means). I think it’s because in my first trimester, because my appetite was so funky I just ate whatever my body would allow. There were a few times when my body wanted Spicy Chicken Sandwiches from Wendy’s and sugary cereals like Honeycomb. So when you eat stuff like that, not every day, but often enough it does throw your entire taste buds off and starting to establish a normal eating pattern. Now that my stomach is stable and I have a bit more energy, I am starting to eat 6 times a day and healthier stuff.
I am back working out! You guys don’t know how much this means to me! I am starting off slow by going to the gym 2 days a week and taking my dogs on longer walks. I have already gained some body fat and I am okay with that, but I don’t want you guys to see a picture of me later and say “DAMMMMMMMMMMN”. Hell, I don’t want to say that about myself. I want to stay somewhat in shape and healthy. Working out and being a bit more active, has actually made me feel a lot better. If you are pregnant and struggling to get active, trust me when I say if you just throw yourself in a situation where you have to move that body, you will feel better.
Speaking of feeling better…
I fell in love with prenatal products by Happy Mama Prenatal! I stumbled across these products through a regular visit to Target. They have al types of good stuff. They have these awesome fruit and vegetable sauces made with apple, kale, ginger, and oranges. They also infuse these sauces with important nutrients that help with the baby development and to make you feel better such as DHA, Choline, and Calcium! Happy Mama also has these awesome probiotic mix-ins that you can add to your water or desired drink it helps with the development of your baby’s immune system along with supporting your immune system. You can’t taste it either! Another product I used was a protein drink by Healthy Mama. This drink helps to give energy and it also has some ginger to help with an upset stomach (which I needed everyday).
Now I am on a mission to create some recipes of my own that I believe will help all mothers who are pregnangt in various stages of pregnancy that are healthy and delicious. Don’t worry, you will get more of the bad stuff too. Hey, we need balance, right? Until month 4!
