Each year our family has a Family Halloween Party where I set out lots of snacks, finger foods, and treats. This year our party will include Tyson Chicken appetizers that have become a beloved tradition in our household. Now that we have two little kids, I love having opportunities like these that will build memories and family traditions for years to come.
Growing up, my grandparents were the chiefs of holiday family fun and creating traditions. Each summer, we would visit Youngs Dairy Farm to visit the farm petting zoo and get ice cream churned on the farm; Every 4th of July, we would visit my Aunt Lela and light sparklers at night; and every Christmas, we would have a huge family Christmas party where my cousins and I would play goldfish, Old Maid, and I Declare War until the evening was over.
Now that I have a family, there is nothing more important to me than continuing those traditions and norms they can share with their family.
Two years ago, due to the pandemic, when all the pumpkin patches were closed, and Halloween activities were at a minimum, I started“Family Fall Day.” I would make fall or Halloween-themed snacks, do a fall festive craft, and paint pumpkins. We had so much fun that I continued the tradition during October, and our kids LOVE IT! I am always looking for new ideas to implement, and this year, when it comes to food, I am sticking to a brand that my kids love Tyson Chicken.
This party is easy to put together
Putting this party together is fairly simple. I typically lay out some of the following snacks:
- Cupcakes
- Cookies
- Pretzel Bites
- Fall Chex Mix
- Chips and Pretzels
- Halloween Candy
- Mini Fruit and Veggie platter
Aside from these snacks, I also make a big pot of my Chili Con Carne and White Chicken Chili. But because my kids don’t have the palette for either of these soups, I will make the food choices simple this year by using Tyson Chicken appetizers that are perfect for little kids.
- Tyson Chicken Nuggets
- Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips
- Tyson Any’tizers
The best part of making this snack is all I have to do is warm up the snack in my oven, there’s minimal cleanup, and I know my kids will love them. Heck, we love them too. All I have to do is lay the chicken appetizers on a serving tray, and I let my kids serve and help themselves. They love the freedom of doing that.
These quick and easy appetizers make your Halloween gathering much more special. I highly recommend making them just because they are so tasty and kid-friendly!
Family Halloween Fun Activities
There are a few activities and Halloween events that we do as a whole family:
- Pumpkin Painting
- Make Jack-o-Lanterns
- Pumpkin Decorating
- Make Halloween Decorations
- Go to a nearby Trunk or Treat
- Visit a Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze
- Apple Picking at a local farm
- Night of Halloween movies
We typically start by doing traditional Halloween activities at home and then venture off to doing something at a local venue, or vice versa. This year we attended a trick-or-treat event at a local mall where they did a scavenger hunt with the kids and put on a magic show. My kids couldn’t get enough of the entertainment! We didn’t have time to put on their costumes, but my kids will be ready on Trick or Treat Day. Aside from these activities, here are some other activities the whole family can enjoy that will go well with a family Halloween party:
- Attend or create a local haunted house
- Attend a local costume contest
- Face Painting
- Make Caramel Apples
- Make Halloween Crafts to decorate your home
Whatever you decide to do, make unique and classic family traditions that your family will look forward to every year. But when it comes to snacks and finger foods, make the Tyson chicken appetizers that your kids already love!
