It doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious. These Breakfast Corn Dogs are far from complicated.
If there is one thing I love in the entire world is a good corn dog. The perfect corn dog for me is a beef hot dog on a stick, with a slightly sweet corn bread like coating, and fried to perfection with a slight crunch when bitten. OH and mustard. You must have mustard. That is the good stuff right there. I can eat corn dogs or corn dog bites all day every day. Sure they aren’t the healthiest thing in the world but they are one of the most beautiful things in the world to me. I often sit and think about how the creation of a corn dog must have come about. I don’t know why I feel that a serious genius had to come up with the corn dog because all it’s basically meat dipped into a stick and fried. America is known for coming up with stuff like that. Let’s see, what have I seen fried and dipped:
- Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
- Watermelon
- Oreo’s
- Snickers
- Pickles
- Broccoli
- Bacon.
It is almost like we can’t help but to find ways to make something unhealthy even more unhealthy. Like the trans and saturated fat, high fructose corn syrup, and preservatives isn’t enough. You know what I am saying? But, I will not judge the people that come up with batter-fried stuff nor the people who enjoy them, because I love corn dogs. Loooove them! But, there is nothing worse than getting a corn dog and it isn’t good. The batter isn’t sweet and crisp and the hot dog is gross. That is the worse. However, the best thing about corn dogs is that it serves as inspiration to make other meat dipped things like these Breakfast Corn Dogs.
The best thing about making these corn dogs is that it take absolutely no time at all, and you will love them. Seriously. If you have kids, they will love them; If you have a husband that eats everything, he will love them; and if you decide to have a brunch, your guests will love them. They are the most amazing thing. AND if you’re being health conscious, think about it like this, how many calories are you saving by eating one or two of these verses eating 2-3 pancakes with a side of sausage links? Uh huh. I triggered someones mind. Here is something else to trigger your mind, because we don’t know what most of these food companies are putting in our food, you can make these as natural as you want, freeze them, and your kids will have a snack when they want! You can make your own pancake batter and cook your own sausage links if you want. But if you are one of those who don’t have that kind of time, then, by all means, this is the best recipe for you! So easy, so delicious, and sensible. I know you love me :-). I’ve saved the day once again!
