I had to bring back this Cajun Seafood Pasta Recipe because it is so-damn-good!
This Cajun Seafood Pasta is full of spicy sausage, shrimp, and plump sea scallops while served over linguine in a spicy tomato cream sauce!
When I knew I wanted to make this dish, it took me 2 weeks to figure out what type of sauce I wanted to make with it (…{singing}”Caught up in the rapture of love” listening to Anita Baker). I didn’t know if I wanted to make a white wine sauce, white sauce, vodka sauce, marinara sauce, or what! I was looking through a few cookbooks of mine determined to find the perfect sauce or, at least, an idea that I could use and make my own. And guess who came to the rescue? The food bloggers Dalai Lama, Ree Drummond AKA The Pioneer Woman. I took her simple tomato pasta sauce and added my own cajun flare.
Now let me tell you about this sauce. I wanted to drink this sauce. I am very critical of my food. You will hardly ever hear me give myself kudos for my food. Well, let me rephrase that, I will give myself kudos, but I immediately of how to make a dish better. But this dish right ya’ll, I say this dish right here ya’ll, will make you say “damn” on the first bite. This is absolutely one of my favorite pasta dishes…EVER! I’m not even a huge pasta person, but it is very good (why did I just tell that lie). This is another one of those meals that you can make for that special person and make them fall in love. Now if I say something is good and is one of my most favorite meals EVER, you have to trust me.
Another thing about this pasta recipe, you can add whatever meat you want. If you are not a huge seafood person you can use just chicken and sausage. Or just chicken. It is very versatile for the picky food eaters. If you are not a pork person, you can use smoked turkey or chicken sausage. This is a great foundation for you to make into your own unique dish.
Thanks again Ree!
I love going back to some of my old recipes and making them again. It’s almost like reminiscing with your significant other and rediscovering what made you fall in love with one another. I bet you may be wondering, what made me go back 5 years and make this dish again, right? Well, I was approached by a sausage company that is based in San Fransisco called Evergood Fine Goods to create a recipe video using their product. After days and days of brainstorming of what I could make that was amazing and camera friendly, I continued to hit a brick wall. Then I thought what I already had on my blog that would work just as good. Then I thought of my amazing and delicious Cajun Seafood Pasta! It is already incredible and the recipe is so easy that people might try and fall in love with this pasta recipe too! Why reinvent the wheel when you have one that is already working?
When I posted this Cajun Seafood Pasta Recipe back in 2012, it was a blog favorite! I can’t remember if I received any reviews on people trying this pasta recipe, but I know it is good! I followed my recipe to the letter and it is still amazing! I did change some of the seasoning portions as it was spicier than I remember and, although that is fine for me, I wanted to be a bit conservative with the seasoning that way you can add more if you would like. Using Evergood Fine Goods Sausage in this dish definitely took it up a level for me. The sausage made by Evergood is nothing short than amazing. The sausage is full of flavor and seasoning you won’t believe it! I am glad I was approached by Evergood and my only regret is that I don’t live close to the San Fransico area where I can be closer to a retailer to buy this sausage.
Here are just a few of their flavors:
Italian Sausage
Chicken and Apple Sausage
Chicken Chorizo Sausage
Pineapple Sausage*
Lousiana Hot Links
Garlic Sausage and more!!!!
