I don’t know about you, but I could spend hours in a health food store or market. I love seeing the healthy ingredients, foods, and supplements that does good for our bodies. When I want something to do when there is nothing to do, I typically go to Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme Market, or GNC and just spend time reading and exploring the different supplements. Even when I don’t something about a particular ingredient, I will stand there and look it up on my phone. Yea, I can be that kind of person. Don’t get me wrong, I am not anal about everything I buy or what I put in my body, but I just like to learn and educate myself on what is being put in our food. So when I get an opportunity to try a product that seems to be a healthier option, I am all about trying it and sharing my personal thoughts and opinions with all of you. With that being said, let’s talk about Chosen Foods.
Chosen Foods has a complete line of condiments made with pure ingredients made by Mother Nature herself such as cooking oils, chia seeds, cooking oils, quinoa, and, what I will be featuring today, Avocado Mayo made with 100% Avocado Oil. For the longest I hated mayo. Yes, I couldn’t stand it. It was the flavor that I didn’t care for too much. Now that I am older, I don’t seem to mind it as much. I am not the person who goes heavy on the mayo and dip their fries in the stuff. I just like a nice amount to compliment my sandwich. But do you know what is in your typical Miracle Whip or Mayo choice? Well, I’m going to tell you. Most major mayo brands are made with genetically modified and industrial seed oils like soy, corn, or canola. Basically, man made ingredients that doesn’t come from nature and has hardly any nutritional value. Chosen Foods has made mayo made with 100& pure avocado oil and I know you know how healthy avocados are. Chosen’s mayo is great for the paleo dieters, its NON-GMO, made with cage free eggs, high in Omega 9 oils, and the best part is that you can’t taste the difference between Chosen’s mayo and a popular brand. Trust me, I tried it!
So I thought long and hard about what I could make with this mayo. I realized that I was thinking too hard and got hungry around lunchtime. Then it hit me, I’m going to make a Southwestern Chicken Wrap using this Avocado Oil. It was quite easy and delicious. I used most of the ingredients that I had in my refrigerator. Let’s see we have the mayo, of course, avocado, black beans ( I love), cilantro ( I super love), and salsa. Of course I couldn’t forget about the main ingredient. I took some left-over rotisserie chicken and tore it into shredded pieces and added it to my wrap. It was perfect. The best thing about this wrap is that I would’ve spent about $5 for it and it cost me nothing because I had everything at home. This Southwestern Chicken Wrap is easy to make and the Avocado Mayo is the perfect complement to this wrap. To learn more about Chosen Foods and their products click on the link below.
