Remember that girl that I was talking about yesterday, Sarah, well her birthday was yesterday. Did I mention that? Well, if I didn’t, yesterday was my good-good friend Sarah’s Birthday. Sarah loves chocolate, so for her birthday I decided to make her a basket of chocolate goodies. Those goodies consisted of the brownies that was posted yesterday and these Chocolate Chip & Whopper Malt Cookies. Needles to say, Sarah was all chocolate out.
I like making goodies with candy bars or any type of candy because I think it gives you an opportunity to stretch your creativity by re-purposing the ingredient. However, if I were on Chopped (love that show) I don’t think that Geoffrey Zakarian, Alexandra Guarnascelli, and Scott Conant would say that I did that in this case, but with my continuously expanding culinary skills, I think I did something magical with the Whoppers. This cookie is extremely chocolatey and rich. That is a good thing for me because it keeps me from eating a lot of them. Yes, I can only go so far with rich desserts. Between that and being lactose intolerant my body is putting me into a certain kind of submission where I have no choice to continue to eat healthier (damn!). But if you can stand to eat them, I say eat enough for the both of us.
Enjoy!
