I have died and gone to heaven!
Over the years, my taste buds have grown very sensitive. I am very sensitive to foods that are sweet, salty, and processed. It is almost like I can taste the preservatives, excess sugar, and salt. That use to not be the case. In fact, when I was younger I use to love dipping plain salty potato chips into mustard. In fact I would put so much mustard on my potato chips that they would turn soggy. Mmm, that is the good stuff right there. You want to talk about salty! That is one of the saltiest combinations EVER! With processed foods, my go to favorite were pizza rolls. In fact, if I really built up the nerve I could probably eat them now. I loved them! Oh yea and pop tarts! But after a while you begining to wonder the shelf likfe of such foods and what is in them to keep them safe for you to eat. Now, I do not buy pre package meals or processed foods or Pop Tarts, which I am really pissed about that. I loved Pop Tarts! As far as eating sweet stuff, I can remember ordering banana splits and making sure that I had caramel, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, two kinds of ice cream and nuts and being in heaven. It was a lot of sugar, but at the time it was great. Now, I can only have one type of ice cream (one scoop), one sauce, and no whipped cream because I am lactose intolerant (unless I take a Lactaid). Man, what age does to you, huh?
However, I think I found a cure for my “sweet tooth”. The cure is these Peanut Butter Rolo Blondies. Now I know what you are thinking. You are probably thinking how does this cure your sweet tooth when there is toffee, Rolo’s, and chocolate chips in the blondies? To be completely honest with you friends, I don’t know. All I know is that these Blondies are not overly sweet AND they are super gooey! I am not kidding when I say these Blondies are the perfect end to a great beginning for me. I made them twice. I had to have my significant other take them with him to work because I kept going back for more. They are absolutely amazing! The peanut butter flavor isn’t too strong and they are just….mmm…mmm…mmm…mmm…mmm. I hate when I make something that I become really addicted to…
