Let me take this blog post and use it as an opportunity to talk about how great my husband is.
Make these Bacon Cheeseburgers for your Memorial Day holiday.
My husband and I have this friendly household bet where we challenge each other when it comes to grilling. I think I can cook better on the grill than he can and he thinks I have lost my mind for just thinking that. The audacity of me, in his mind. Truth be told it is a mystery that I don’t think will ever be solved because we both have our gifts when it comes to grilling. There are certainly some ways he might be better than me, and there are definitely ways that I am better than him. The one thing I know about this man is how great of husband and soon-to-be-father he is. I could not have asked for a better partner in life than him and I really want to make sure that message is communicated in this blog post.
My husband and I have known each other since we were 12. Although it was not love at first sight, at least for me, we definitely evolved into something that I would’ve never expected. This man has become the most perfect person for me. He balances me out and has taught me so much about myself that has allowed me to mature in areas that I would not have if it was not for him. I have learned to be more confident and secure with who I am and the only thing I needed was for someone to really believe in the person I was becoming. Basically, he finds me beautiful in all areas. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve accepted all who I was before we got together, he just showed me that who I am is okay even if I don’t understand me at times.
We have grown so much with each other and in different ways. However, the best way he has changed has been since we found out we will be having a baby. He immediately became more sensitive, understanding, and patient. He has been so attentive and open in ways that may not have opened unless I was pregnant. I am very happy and proud that my husband is who he is. I can’t wait to see who he becomes as father. The one thing he won’t become is a better griller than me or making better Bacon Cheeseburgers, mostly because he doesn’t eat bacon.
Here is what my husband does to his burgers that, quite frankly, I never heard of but it works. When my husband makes his grilled burgers he adds an egg and mustard to his mixture. The first time I seen this I thought it was the most disgusting thing in the world! I was afraid to try one of his burgers to be honest. You know what, it somehow works. The burgers don’t taste like mustard but they are super thick and meaty. Now don’t I make my burgers without those two ingredirntd but if you wanted to try it with this recipe, you will add 1 egg and ¼ cup of yellow mustard along with the rest of the spices. But if you are all for #teamnicole, you can leave follow the recipe as is. Because my husband thinks he can cook better than me on the grill and he is going to be a dad soon, I thought it would be nice for me to buy him a gift that combines the two. I bought him a customized grilling tool that says “Future #1 Dad”. Isn’t it cute? I ordered it from a website called Personal Creations. They have a bunch of cool stuff for several occasions where you can personalize your gifts. In fact, Father’s Day is coming up and this may be a great place to buy a gift for your husband, father, grandfather, or brother. In fact, this is the very website where I purchased my husband first Father’s Day gift, which is the spatula shown in the picture. I highly recommend that you check out this website for your future gift buying purposes. In any case, I hope you enjoy my burger recipe because it is better than my husbands and it is perfectly suitable for National Hamburger Day (which was yesterday) but still perfect for Memorial Day. Enjoy these Bacon Cheeseburgers and your holiday!
