My Love Affair with Pasta
Let’s be real, who doesn’t love pasta? I know I do. I have a confession to make. Pasta and I have a complicated relationship. I try to stay away, but we always find our way back to each other. It’s the ultimate comfort food, and it’s just so darn delicious. I mean, is there anything better than a big bowl of perfectly cooked pasta coated in a flavorful sauce? I think not.
One of my all-time favorite pasta dishes has to be shrimp scampi. There’s something about the buttery garlic sauce, the plump, juicy shrimp, and the long strands of linguine that just make my taste buds sing. It’s a symphony of flavors that I can never get enough of. But today, we’re shaking things up a bit. We’re keeping all those incredible flavors but swapping out the traditional pasta for something a little more…cheesy. Enter: cheese ravioli.

Why Ravioli? Oh, Let Me Tell You!
Why did I decide to pair this luscious creamy shrimp scampi sauce with ravioli? Well, if I’m being honest, I was craving something extra cheesy. And what better way to satisfy that craving than with ravioli stuffed to the brim with cheese? The combination of the creamy, garlicky shrimp scampi sauce and the cheesy ravioli is simply divine. It’s like a match made in heaven, a culinary love affair that you need to experience.
This Creamy Shrimp Scampi Pasta Recipe may look fancy, but don’t let that fool you. It’s surprisingly easy to make, which makes it perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special date night. Just whip up a quick house salad, grab some crusty bread for sopping up that amazing sauce, and you’re all set. You’ll have an elegant and impressive meal on the table in no time.

Cooking with White Wine: It’s Not Scary!
Now, I know some of you might be a little hesitant when you see white wine in the ingredients list. But trust me, cooking with wine is not as intimidating as it sounds. I used to be the same way, thinking it was only for fancy chefs. I’m not a big wine drinker, especially now that I’m pregnant. But, I always keep a bottle of white and red wine in my pantry with my oils and vinegars because you just never know when you might need it. If you have a fancier wine that you like to drink, you can always add that instead of the cheap stuff, but no pressure!
The white wine in this Creamy Shrimp Scampi Pasta Recipe adds a depth of flavor that you just can’t get any other way. It helps to create a rich, complex sauce that’s absolutely irresistible. And don’t worry, the alcohol cooks off, so it’s perfectly safe for everyone to enjoy.

A Flavor Explosion
Okay, let’s talk about the flavors in this dish. The creamy, cheesy sauce is infused with garlic, lemon, and basil, which, if I’m being honest, is my favorite part. There’s something about that fresh basil that just brightens up the whole dish and takes it to the next level.
This recipe reminds me of my Seafood Gnocchi dish, which is another one of my absolute favorites. Description
Enjoy this Creamy Shrimp Scampi Pasta (Ravioli) made with cheese ravioli, large shrimp, garlic, and fresh basil.
Ingredients
- 10 oz. Cheese Ravioli
- 1 1/2 lb. 26/30 Raw Large Shrimp, deveined and peeled
- 2 tbsp. Olive oil
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 c. dry white wine
- 2 tbsp. Butter
- 1/2 lemon, squeezed
- 3 c. heavy cream
- 1 1/3 c. Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided
- 1/4 tsp. Crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp. Pepper
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. Onion powder
- 2 tbsp. Fresh basil, chopped and more for garnish if desired
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with salted water and boil; add the ravioli and cook for 5 minutes. Reserve a cup of the pasta water.
- In a large skillet, turn on medium-high heat. Heat the olive oil and begin to melt the three tablespoons of butter. Once the butter has melted and the oil and butter begin to bubble, add the diced shallots and cook until translucent. Once the shallots have cooked, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the white wine, lemon juice, and extra 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow the wine to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Once the cream begins to simmer, add the grated parmesan cheese, red crushed pepper flakes, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, and fresh basil.
- Stir to combine and simmer for 2 minutes. Add a little of the pasta water to loosen the sauce, if needed.
- Add the shrimp and ravioli to the pan and fold together with a spatula or flat spoon. Once well combined, cover with a lid and allow to simmer for about 7-10 minutes. Top the dish in the pan with an extra ⅓ cups of grated parmesan cheese and serve.
Notes
If you don’t want to make the sauce, you can use a jar of alfredo sauce instead.
