I love to have parties and celebrate The Big Game, The Playoffs, and the World Series every year with delicious food and beverages with my closest family and friends. The way I celebrate basketball, baseball, and football, you would think I am a serious sports fanatic! To be honest, there is a lot of those three sports that I don’t know much about. What I do know is they all need parties and should be watched with close family and friends. Now that football is over, and basketball is phasing out, let’s talk about the best season, baseball, shall we?

I prefer to physically attend baseball games. They are more fun than watching the game at home. In fact, what I love more than watching the baseball game is the food! In fact, I worked for an MLB team when I was in college, but I’ll tell you about that experience later in this post. I must say, the baseball stadium has some pretty awesome food choices! My favorite thing to eat at a baseball game is, you guessed it,

HOT DOGS! Not just any hot dog, a Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog!

They are delicious, plump, and juicy. Then there are the hot dog toppings to choose from. Personally, I am a mustard girl. However, I also enjoy sauerkraut, relish, and onions on my hot dog as well! I totally don’t mind the toppings. The more toppings the better. After eating a delicious Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog, you have to enjoy a cool and delicious Snapple Iced Tea!

I have been a fan of Snapple drinks for as long as I can remember. We all enjoy going to the baseball games, we also know the games can be in warm reasonable weather, or hot unbearable weather. Every year, my family and I always start the football season off with a tailgate party. This year for baseball season, I’m going to have a party that is just as fun and awesome for baseball. What I decided to do to be different is create a hot dog bar. Have you ever heard of this idea? Let me explain.

Basically, you layout different hot dog toppings for people to serve on top of their Nathan’s hot dog. Yeah, that was a one-liner and pretty simple to explain. There are many hot dog bar ideas that you can create. You can even lay out hot dog toppings that support a theme. My hot dog bar ideas for themes are:

• “The Walking Taco” (salsa, crushed corn chips, cheddar cheese, and lettuce).

• “The Chicago” (onions, relish, pickles, diced tomatoes, sauerkraut, mustard, and ketchup).

• “The Green Machine” ( mixed greens, sliced cucumbers, vinegarette dressing, and roasted pecans).

• “Loaded” (coleslaw, crush potato chips, bacon pieces, and cheese).

These are some simple hot dog bar ideas that you can create to cater to your audience. You can definitely have more than one hot dog bar theme! For instance, if you have a mixed crowd of healthy and unhealthy eaters, I would go with the “Loaded” and Salad hot dog bar ideas. If you have people who love a classic hot dog but also would love to mix it up every now and then, I would choose the Classic and Mexican hot dog bar ideas. These are just a few hot dog bar toppings I came up with, but you can definitely get as creative and inventive as you want. You just can’t beat a Nathan’s Famous Beef Frank following an iced cold Snapple Peach Iced Tea.

Now for a quick funny story, it took me a while to learn baseball. I mean I didn’t learn about baseball until I was in college. After my local MLB team reopened the stadium I was hired to work in their guest services division as a, I can’t believe this job was a job, an elevator operator. Guest services called it something else really fancy, but that is what I did. I sat in an elevator throughout the game to push a button for fans between 3 floors. Really? Hey at the time they were paying $9.50 and that was good money to a college student with no bills for the summer. Anyway, on one particular day, I noticed I was in the elevator for a mighty long time so when a large group of people entered the elevator, eager for a break, I proceeded to ask,

“Can someone tell me what quarter we’re in?”

It wasn’t until after they all stopped laughing hysterically was someone kind enough to correct me by letting me know that there are innings in baseball, not quarters. Then I proceeded to ask another crazy question, “Well do you know how many minutes are left?” Yep, I just kept digging myself into a hole. I am quite sure if they entertained me enough, I would’ve ended up asking them what number is Babe Ruth.
