Didn’t I tell you that I was planning a wedding?
Okay, like, I am totally soooo excited (in my valley-girl-Khardasian voice) for my wedding next year.
Okay, seriously, I am excited about my wedding next year and the thing I am most excited about is my wedding cake. We bought (yes bought) our wedding cake a few weeks ago from my favorite bakery in called Taste of Elegance, which is located in Dayton, OH. That is like my favorite bakery ever and every year I get my birthday cake from there. It only makes sense that I get my wedding cake from there too, right? Well we went for the tasting (my favorite part of wedding planning so far) and had a good ole time!
Let’s see we tried your traditional white, chocolate and marble with their infamous butter cream icing (no seriously infamous). Then there were these specialty flavors that my fiance and I loved. The two speciality flavors we love the most was their strawberry butter cream and lemon cake. Knocked it out of the park! I do like strawberry cake but I am really funny about lemon desserts. Loved it! So yes, our wedding cake flavors will definitely have the strawberry and lemon incorporated into our cake. OH YEA! OH YEA!
The problem is, since the cake testing, it has taken me all the will in my body to not come up with a disguise and false name to go for another cake testing (I’m still considering it btw). Therefore, I thought I would merge both of the flavors to see if that does the trick. DRUM ROLL PLEASE………it taste nothing like Taste of Elegance, but it tastes AMAZING! The frosting tastes like lemonade. Freaking awesome! If you’re worried that it would be too tart just start with 1 tablespoon. Soooooo…I guess the cake tastes like strawberry lemonade cake. It is the perfect strawberry cake for the summer. You just got to try it and if you are ever in Dayton, go to Taste of Elegance by Elle Cakes.
