The first time I had Chicken and Waffles was at the Taste of Belgium a few months ago. In fact, I’ve never been to any of the world-renowned chicken and waffle restaurants such as Roscoe’s or Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles. My lack of experience in indulging in this unique combination of food did not disallow me from taking a stab at it. It was so good.
I made a Chicken and Waffle sandwich, which could easily be chicken and waffles, that is just so amazing and so rich, you would think that I have eaten chicken and waffles all of my life. I made a sweet hot sauce for my chicken and placed them in between two slightly sweet and huge pieces of Belgian waffles and poured warmed syrup over top. It was super amazing! So there is a sweet, spicy, and savory components all mixed into one. Now I know that there are many of you who get turned off by the concept of chicken and waffles and I was the same way. But let me tell you…”don’t knock it, until you try it”. You can make these for a brunch or a breakfast with a bunch of people and they will love it.
