Take your Pumpkin Pie to a new level by making this Streusel Pumpkin Pie Recipe for Thanksgiving this year!
This Streusel Pumpkin Pie will make everyone fall in love. Easy pumpkin pie recipe topped off with a delicious crunchy streusel for an amazingly good time!
In my blog post, Classic Sweet Potato Pie Recipe, I discussed how I tend to favor Pumpkin Pie a hair more than Sweet Potato Pie. It’s true! I know some of my family members and African American counterparts are looking at this blog post like “What?!!” Yeah, it’s true and I am not quite sure what the difference is between the two for me. The texture is relatively the same, it’s still surrounding by a buttery and flaky crust, and the ingredients almost mimic one another. So what’s the deal? Why do I find myself favoring Pumpkin Pie over Sweet Potato Pie?
I have a few ideas as to why this may be the case but here is what I really think. I think my tastebuds prefer the spice in the Pumpkin Pie over the Sweet Potato Pie. In Pumpkin Pie there are so many spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. It tastes so well with the pumpkin puree. Typically, with Sweet Potato Pie I mostly use cinnamon and maybe a touch of nutmeg. It is still delicious in its own right, but I think I like all of those extra spices in Pumpkin Pie a touch more. Not to mention, Pumpkin Pie is a bit smoother than Sweet Potato Pie. Well, that is how I compare and contrast between the two pies.
Every year, there are nearly 10 million Google searches for Pumpkin Pie Recipe. It is high in demand due to the current season. I wanted to make Pumpkin Pie share with you guys, but I didn’t want to make your traditional Pumpkin Pie recipe that you can get on the back off a Libby’s Pumpkin Puree can, which is really good all on its own. Instead, I wanted to create different elements to Pumpkin Pie by adding something that would make this Pumpkin Pie recipe stand out amongst the rest. I immediately thought of streusel. Streusel is my favorite topping on just about any baked good there is. You can get pretty creative with streusel as you can use different nuts, oats, and sugars! My favorite part of streusel is it creates the slight crunch that you get when you bite into your baked good. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does, I love it. I think that is why I love Dutch Apple Pie simple Apple Pie. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a basic pumpkin pie, but there are so many out there to choose from, you want yours stand out.
I made a basic Pumpkin Pie and topped it with the streusel that is made with flour, brown sugar, and butter. Luckily, my food blogging friend Allie from Baking a Moment has an awesome blog post and video tutorial to show all of us how to make streusel for any cake, pie, or muffins. I used her teaching to make this awesome streusel topping for this Streusel Pumpkin Pie Recipe. The only difference is I added a bit more butter :-). I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and I also hope this Pumpkin Pie Recipe becomes a repeat at your holiday dinner tables.

Your recipe needs to be modified to indicate when the streusel gets sprinkled on top of the pie. You have everything really well laid out and it smells and looks delicious.
