Here we are! Day 4 of “Cake Batter and Butter Cream Week”. This next sweet treat is a perfect combination of both butter cream and cake batter. I have to warn you though this ice cream is very sweet (to me).
So let me tell you, I have never been a great fan of birthday cake ice cream, but birthday cake is my most favorite dessert. I mean white or yellow moist birthday cake with butter cream icing. Yum! Anyway, when I was told that it was a flavor and that I might like it. Initially I thought that it was a horrible idea and that birthday cake should only be in the form of a cake, not in ice cream. Well I had it for the first time a few years ago at a birthday party and I saw the doorways of heaven open and I saw the celestial choir sing “HA–LLELUJAH! HA–LLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLE–LU–JUAH!”. You get the point. It was super good. So now that I know how to make homemade ice cream, I wanted to try to make it the same way but better. How about adding actual butter cream to it? I have to warn you, this ice cream is super sweet and you can’t leave the salt out because that will help level the sweetness a bit.
