I have been on this healthy kick lately, as most of you may know, and I have tried to take some of the not-so-healthy foods that I love and recreate them into something healthier. Don’t get me wrong, this is not going to suddenly be another “healthy food blog” but I don’t think there is anything wrong with us hungry humans taking something that we love and re-purposing the dish for a healthier lifestyle. Sometimes you may even surprise yourself and end up loving the healthier version better than the not-so-healthy version.
So far I have made Vegan Philly Cheesesteaks, Vegan Chicken and Dumplings, Healthy Tuna Melts, Black Bean Brownies, and I am sure that are some other dishes as well. The ones that I have mentioned are some healthier version of the original dish that I think is better or just as good. This Banana Bread is no exception. However, I will say that it doesn’t have that heavy denseness that comes along when adding butter or oil to a quick bread. That is because it was replaced with applesauce. Outside of that, it tastes wonderful and just the same.
