My Baking Philosophy: Simple, Creative, Delicious
I’m a firm believer in making life easier, not harder – especially in the kitchen. That’s why I love taking everyday ingredients and transforming them into something special. You might have seen my other recipe roundups where I’ve used cake mix as a base for countless creative desserts. It’s all about finding shortcuts that don’t compromise on flavor.
When I’m hunting for a new recipe, I always consider three things:
- Ingredients: Do I have most of them on hand, or are they easy to find?
- Time: Is the prep, cook, and/or bake time realistic for my schedule?
- Complexity: Are the instructions straightforward, or is there a risk of getting overwhelmed?
Baking should be fun, not stressful. That’s why I often start with boxed mixes. They cut down on prep time and ensure consistent results, allowing me to focus on adding my own creative twists.
The Inspiration Behind These Brownies
I’ll admit, I have a soft spot for anything that combines peanut butter and chocolate. A few years ago, I made these insanely addictive Fluffernutter Balls, and they were a huge hit. I wanted to capture that same magic in a brownie, but with even more texture and indulgence.
Plus, with the Big Game just around the corner, I knew these brownies would be the perfect game-day snack. They’re hearty, satisfying, and have that irresistible “manly” appeal (whatever that means!).
How to Make Fluffernutter Brownies (the Short Version)
The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. Here’s the basic idea:
- Whip up a batch of brownies using your favorite boxed mix.
- Melt some peanut butter and swirl it into the batter along with dollops of marshmallow fluff.
- Top with chopped Nutter Butter cookies and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
- Bake, cool, and try not to eat the entire pan in one sitting.
The Flavor Explosion
You’re in for a treat when you take a bite of these Fluffernutter Brownies. The fudgy brownie base provides a rich, chocolatey foundation, while the marshmallow fluff adds a gooey, sweet surprise. The peanut butter swirls bring a salty, nutty depth, and the Nutter Butter cookies and Reese’s Pieces create a delightful crunch.
Don’t worry about these brownies being overly sweet. The flavors are surprisingly balanced, and the richness of the chocolate keeps the sweetness in check. Trust me, I’ve tested this recipe multiple times (purely for research purposes, of course), and they disappear faster than you can say “touchdown!”
Commonly Asked Questions
Nutter Butters are the classic choice for Fluffernutter, but feel free to experiment with other peanut butter cookies. Oreos, Chips Ahoy, or even graham crackers would add a fun twist.
Yes, these brownies can be made a day or two in advance. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
The possibilities are endless! Chopped peanuts, chocolate chips, or even pretzels would add extra flavor and texture.
This can happen if the brownies are underbaked. Make sure to check for doneness with a toothpick – it should come out with a few moist crumbs, not completely clean.

Fluffernutter Brownies Recipe
- Total Time: 1 hour 35 mins
- Yield: 12–24 1x
Description
These Fluffernutter Brownies are made using a brownie mix, peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, Nutter Butter Cookies, and peanut butter cups.
Ingredients
- 1 Brownie Box Mix (including water, oil, and eggs as instructed)
- 1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
- 1 tbsp. Powdered sugar
- 2/3 c. marshmallow fluff
- 8 oz. Reese’s Cups, chopped
- 1 c. Nutter Butter Cookies, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees and line a 9X13 baking dish with parchment paper. Spray with baking spray and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, water, eggs, and oil with the measurements as detailed on the box and mix well. Pour in the baking dish and use a rubber spatula to spread the batter evenly.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the peanut butter and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add the powdered sugar and stir until smooth. Place dollops of peanut butter across the batter. Second, place dollops of marshmallow fluff across the batter trying not to overlap the peanut butter. Use the end of a sharp knife and swirl into the brownie batter.
- Sprinkle with peanut butter cups and Nutter Butter cookies and bake for 25 minutes on middle rack. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
- NOTE: You do not have to use the Nutter Butter cookies if you don’t want. Because the Brownies may be rich to some, I recommend cutting them into 24 squares. About half of the size of a regular Brownie.
