Summer just got sweeter with these S’mores Brownies! With a graham cracker crust, fudgy brownie mix, and perfectly roasted marshmallows, this dessert is the epitome of summer.
The Graham Cracker Crust
To create the perfect S’mores Brownies, you’ll need a graham cracker crust that’s crisp, slightly sweet and holds up well against the decadent brownie batter. Fortunately, making the crust is quick and easy!
Start by crushing up about 1 1/2 cups of graham crackers (about ten full crackers) in a food processor or by hand. Mix the crumbs with one tablespoon of light brown sugar and six tablespoons of unsalted melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 8X8 square baking dish.
Bake the crust for about 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, then remove it from the oven to cool slightly before adding the brownie batter on top. The result is a perfectly textured S’mores Brownie that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Now that you have the base ready, it’s time to move on to the next step: making the fudgy brownie batter. Get ready to take your indulgence to the next level!
The Brownie Batter
Making the fudgy brownie batter is the best part of creating these S’mores Brownies! Not only that, it is the easiest brownie recipe because you’re going to use your favorite brownie mix. Make the brownie batter according to the mix instructions. Instead of water, use coffee and about a half cup of chocolate chips to give the brownies a more homemade taste.
Take the pre-baked crust out of the oven and pour the brownie batter. Spread it out evenly and ensure it covers the crust to the edges. Then, it’s time to roast some marshmallows and add the final touch to your smores brownies.
Roasting the Marshmallows
You’ll need to roast some marshmallows to give your brownies that authentic campfire taste. Begin by preheating your oven’s broiler, then arrange mini marshmallows on top of the baked brownies. Place them on the top rack of your oven and let them cook for just a few minutes until they turn golden brown. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning – it happens quickly!
That’s it – you’re done! With your crust and brownie layers baked and your marshmallows perfectly roasted, all that’s left to do is put it all together and enjoy this favorite campfire treat.
Serving Suggestions
Now that your smores brownies are ready to go, let’s talk about how to present them to impress your guests. One option is to cut them into small, bite-sized squares and serve on a platter with toothpicks. This is a great option if you’re having a party or gathering where people mingle and snack.
Another option is to warm brownies in individual ramekins with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This is perfect for a more formal dessert or dinner party. You can sprinkle crushed graham crackers over the top for added texture and flavor.
For an extra special touch, consider making homemade whipped cream to serve alongside the brownies. Simply whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. This will be a hit with any whipped cream lovers out there.
No matter how you choose to serve your s’mores brownies, they will surely be crowd-pleasers. So indulge in this sweet treat, and impress your guests with your presentation.
These Smores Brownies are the ultimate indulgence for any sweet tooth this summer. Each bite is a decadent delight with a crunchy graham cracker crust, rich and gooey brownie batter, and perfectly roasted marshmallows. Description
Indulge in Smores Brownies: graham cracker crust, fudgy brownies from a box mix, and roasted marshmallows for the perfect gooey, melty treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1 tbsp. Light brown sugar
- 6 tbsp. Unsalted butter, melted
- 1 Box Brownie Mix (Including the egg, vegetable oil, and water measurements)
- 12 oz. mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat an oven to 350 Degrees. Line a 9X9 square pan with parchment paper and spray with baking cooking spray and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and butter. Toss together with a spoon until the graham cracker crumbs begins to look like coarse sand. Pour in the 9X9 square pan and pat evenly. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the brownie mix along with the required measurements from the oil, water, and eggs and stir well and smooth. Pour in the square pan on top of the prebaked graham cracker crust and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and comes out clear.
- Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool.
- Once the brownies have cooled, spread the marshmallows on top of the brownies. Turn your oven on broil and place the brownies on the top shelf of the oven, leaving the oven slightly open. Keep in the oven for 3-5 minutes. You don’t want the marshmallow to burn, so DO NOT WALK AWAY. Remove once golden brown and toasted and serve as desired.
Notes
- If you don’t have marshmallows you can use 8 ounces of marshmallow fluff instead.
- Instead of water use coffee to the brownies to enhance the flavor.
